Framed Elephant Tile

Into a slab of clay, I carved the image of this elephant that I met on a trip to Botswana. The elephant is an orphan that is being cared for by the most wonderful man. If you search the PBS archives, you might find a documentary about him.
After carving the tile, I carefully glazed each element to render the image of this wonderful creature.
I framed the tile in a barn-wood frame I sourced from a maker in Iowa. The rustic frame perfectly reflects the nature of my experience on safari.
This frame can sit on a tabletop. It has a hook on the back so it can hang on a wall. It would also be possible to add eye hooks and a picture wire to hang the piece in that manner.
